Apple has previously expressed its displeasure with the fact that in Russia and Ukraine users are willing to pay decent amounts of money for gadgets imported into the country illegally. But until now, these were just empty warnings. Now, owners of iOS devices will literally have no time to laugh. Official Apple service centers in Russia will stop providing warranty service for some gadgets. Which ones exactly? Namely, iPhones and iPads that entered the country in a way that was not the most legal and approved by the company.

For example, one of the owners of a new iPad, without suspecting anything, contacted a service center because the tablet simply did not work. The absolutely new gadget, bought, according to the unlucky user, in the USA without any damage and for unknown reasons, broke down. However, they refused to replace the device, citing new rules. Representatives of the largest company motivated this by the fact that the owner could not provide a receipt for the purchase of the device in the country of sale. Despite the fact that the serial number stated that the device was purchased in the country to which it was supplied by the manufacturer for sale, it turned out that the warranty obligations would no longer apply if there was no documentary evidence that the owner was the original buyer. Such a decision, say representatives of the company, is balanced and thoughtful.

Apple is not afraid of losing regular customers in Russia. It is much more dangerous for the company to constantly lose profits on the "gray" import of gadgets to those countries where they are not supplied according to sales plans. This point of view of the company is, of course, motivated. But the high cost of devices imported to the countries of the former Soviet Union officially will significantly reduce the number of users in the near future if such strict standards are actually introduced. However, Android application developers will get an additional chance to win over the target audience that has lost the opportunity to buy "gray" iPhones, iPads, iPods and MacBooks. And this is, no more and no less, tens of thousands of people. Since the "apple company" has no other truly strong competitors in the Russian market of mobile devices, experts predict exactly this outcome of its uncompromising attitude.

All those who paid a lot of money for a branded device, but could not receive service at a decent level, will simply refuse to use these gadgets in the future and will find an alternative, experts studying demand believe. It is not at all difficult to guess which company will benefit from this. However, forecasts are forecasts, but only time will be able to show how such a war with the "gray" will actually end for Apple.
